Converted this Gear4Music Left-handed single cutaway electroacoustic to right-handed

My friend Bekka bought this lovely Gear4Music single cutaway electroacoustic which is left-handed because she wants to learn to play the guitar and she is left handed. But when it arrived, it took awhile for her to play it. Then after about a month, I asked her about her new guitar and if she has started to learn or play it. So I asked her to hold the guitar and we found out she was holding it the wrong way around. And then I told her, try and hold my guitar which is a right-handed guitar and yup, she feels more comfortable holding a right-handed guitar rather than left. So we decided to modify her guitar.

So this is just a quick fix, a hack if I might use the word.  What I did was remove the strings and then swapped it around. By the way, I used my spare Fender gauge 10 Phosphor Bronze. Then I turned the bridge saddle the other way around. And last but not the least, I filed the nut to accommodate strings number 6 and 5. I might add that I also clean the fretboard with my Dunlop Conditioner 02. Plus I sanded the frets because it was a bit sharp.  And that's it.  I can now also use Bekka's guitar.

My thoughts on this electroacoustic guitar by Gear4Music is that it looks beautiful and it sounds beautiful. When I turned the bridge saddle around, I found out that there a pickup underneath it. The 4 band EQ consist of bass, mid, treble and presence. Then a volume knob and a battery check button. It doesnt come with a tuner. Good thing I got a clip on tuner from Lekato. The sound of the guitar when it's not plugged in is also pretty decent. It made a difference when I put on that Fender Phosphor Bronze acoustic strings. One of the downside is the action, it's a bit high. But if you know someone who can setup the guitar or pay a professional to setup the guitar, then this guitar got lots of potential.

If you're looking to buy your first electroacoustic guitar that is affordable but sounded and looks great, I would definitely recommend this one.

Is the Harley Benton HBO-850 Classic Blue Roundback Electroclassical Guitar any good?

My first ever purchase from Thomann, the Harley Benton HBO-850 Classic Blue roundback electro-classical guitar. The experience was positive and most of all Im really pleased with the guitar. It is very inexpensive and it came within the time span that they mentioned which is 3-4 working days. I bought this on the 5th and it arrived on the 10th it was because of the weekend. So if we remove the Saturday and Sunday, the parcel came within just 3 days. It was via UPS. The tracking system was straight-forward.

If you want to know more about this guitar and if you are interested to buy this one, here's the link: https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbo_850_classic_blue.htm?partner_id=30701

Hohner Panther TEGA 10 review

Hohner International Panther TEGA-10

One Master volume, Three band EQ (treble, mid, bass), Overdrive and a separate Volume. One input, Headphones out, a Line Out and Footswitch input. Speaker changed to a Celestion Eight 15 at 8 Ohms. Just a bit confusing on what is the exact wattage of this amp because it's called TEGA-10 and then at the back there's this 40W and the original speaker was 20 watt at 4 Ohms. So I don't know exactly what is the wattage of this amp.

As for the sound of this amp, it's not loud as in piercing loud but surprisingly enough, it can cut through a loud drummer and a really loud guitarist. Although the sound is a bit too dry and tight and obviously with the 8-inch speaker there's no low end to this amp it more of treble that you will hear.

About the overdrive, I haven't tried the footswitch jack input at the back as I don't have any footswitch pedal. But by turning the overdrive knob all the way up and the volume knob half way or even all the way up as well whilst putting the master volume to a minimum between 1-2, you can achieve that distorted sound. I think this amp is more of a clean tone amp, very nice for ska or reggae.

It is small and portable but I wouldn't say it is lightweight. I mean, when you pick it up, it's sort of manageable but if you carry this for few minutes, you can feel its weight. I have gigged with this amp but it was mic'd in and gigged this on its own without mic, and it managed to cut through. I think this amp is a very nice amp and can stand the test of time. I tried selling it, but I decided to keep it for a bit.

Valencia 1/4 sized nylon classical kids guitar review

Valencia 1/4 classical guitar

Bought this guitar for my boy. He is interested in learning the guitar. So I decided to buy a small guitar suited for him.  There's loads online to choose from but I chose this one because of the size and it says it's suitable for kids 5-8 years old.

Nylon are very good guitar for beginners because it's not that painful on your fingers. Then given the size of this guitar which is 1/4, it's really perfect for my boy. There's also 1/2 and 3/4 or the full size which is 4/4. There's a lot to choose from.

Guitar is decent, well made and most of all frets are working nicely. This one comes with a tuner and gigbag. And because the strings are still new, you need to allow time for it and be patient to keep tuning it time and again.  The sound of this super tiny guitar is excellent. The only downside is that it is really tiny that it's difficult for an adult to play it because it's either your fingers wont fit or you're putting your finger on a different fret by accident. Your fingers here can reach a good stretch. The action is decent, not too hight and low.
