Learn to play the guitar in just 9 lessons

First thing you need to do is to choose which guitar you would want to have, it's either about the size of the guitar, the type of guitar (electric, acoustic, classical), or your budget for the particular guitar. Here's a video to help you choose your first guitar. Also if you can download my ebook for these lessons, I would really be grateful: I want to learn the guitar book1

Then the next thing you need to do or learn is to know the parts of the guitar. Because, in order to learn how to play the guitar, you need to know the basics first especially the parts and terminologies that are used so you will understand when your guitar teacher is saying something about the guitar or if you're using YouTube tutorials, then you have the background knowledge about the guitar.

After learning the parts of the guitar, you will need to know how to hold your guitar. Because not only for comfort and ease of use but also for your health and safety. Like wrong posture or position can cause injuries or damage to your back, wrist and fingers.

Lesson 1. It's time to learn your first chord. The easiest and simplest chord is Em.

Lesson 2. Learn how to strum the guitar. We will use the Em chord as this is your first chord as well as the most easiest chord to use.

Lesson 3.  Learning new chord which is E Major chord. This is a variation to the Em chord and it's just adding one finger to the chord. Also it's good to learn the difference between minor and major chord in terms of sound. Also you will be learning about Time Signature and timing in this video.

Lesson 4.  Learning a new chord which is A minor and then learning how to change chords whilst strumming. This video is about transition from one chord to another.

Lesson 5.  Learning A Major chord and then the 2/4 time signature and strumming.

Lesson 6.  Learning D minor chord

Lesson 7. Learning D Major chord

Lesson 8. Learning the G Major chord

Lesson 9. Learning the C Major chord

Easiest way to build your own guitar

I will share to you guys, the cheapest and most practical way to build your own electric guitar. First is to buy a DIY electric guitar kit. There are loads on eBay and Amazon and even on other online music shops. Here's what I got, an unwanted gift being sold on eBay so it's a total bargain.

Now after unboxing and checking that every parts are complete, you can start building it using the manual that came with it. Unfortunately, mine doesn't have the manual or diagram. So, I rely on my experience and with the help of YouTube, I had to search on where to solder the wires for the jack input.

Here's the video on how I build this guitar.

There were challenges along the way but it's part of the experience and that's how you learn. It's not a perfect kit and it needs a lot of modification and setting up but for the price, I can't really complain.

Here's the sound of this guitar.

Hope you like it and enjoy the videos. Looking forward to hear from you and to see your own build. By the way, I will keep you posted with the progress of this DIY electric guitar kit. It might take awhile but Im loving this guitar. Cheers!
