So in this video I've tried both pedal amps using same guitar and same speaker cabinet which was Laney 10 inch 30 watt DIY speaker cab.
The interesting part is that FoxGear claims their product is 55 watts and Mooer is claiming only 30 watts. But when I tried them, it feels like the 30 watt is louder than the 55 watts. Although the Mooer is a bit distorted when you increase the volume so it's loud but distorted which might be a good thing for some people because you want it to saturate your amp or have a bit of breakage or crunch. But the FoxGear stayed clean even at full volume. But it felt like it's not that loud or I expected a lot because they said it's 55 watts.
Hopefully, there's like an explanation to this. It's either the 55 watts that FoxGear was saying is peak and the 30 watts that Mooer is saying is RMS.
So what I learned from this is that if you want a clean sounding gear then go for the FoxGear Tweed55 but if you want loud and noisy gig, then Mooer should suffice it.
This little multi-effects pedal for electric guitar even though it's already vintage, I mean really old, can still impress you guys who have tried a more modern and sophisticated pedals.
I bought this one on eBay because it's cheap and lots of good reviews. I think most of the videos I've watched are saying that their pedal is more or less 20 years old and when they got it out of their cupboard or loft, they were surprised how got it is still and on top of that it brings back good old memories when they were starting out to be a rockstar.
So I decided to get one and try it myself. So here are some of the videos where I was using this Korg Ax1G and you decide if it's worth it to buy one for yourself.
This was more of a soundcheck. Our very first song after we finished setting up. "Knockin on heaven's door by Bob Dylan semi GnR style."
Here's another one we did a cover of "December by Collective Soul." It was more of improvising because I think Im the only one who knows the song and just guide the rest of my bandmates on where the song goes.
And this last one is a fun improvisation jam to the song Every Breath You Take by The Police. We did this more of improptu after our break so everyone was just improvising to this one.
The gear I used on these videos were:
Lyon by Washburn
Korg AX1G
FoxGear Tweed55
Zoom G1Four
Generic 4x12 speaker cabinet
Lekato WS50 guitar wireless system
Recorded at Untapped Talent Rehearsal Studios in Southampton
Here are some of the videos where I was using this setup:
Gear4Music LA Select SSS Black plugged into Korg Ax1G into my portable mini head amp FoxGear Tweed 55 into a generic 4x12 Speaker Cabinet.
This was during our setting up and sort of soundcheck whilst waiting for the drummer to finish setting up his kit at Pure Rehearsal Studio in Southampton.
